New Editorial Energy!
We’ve got great news—we have just welcomed two beautiful new voices into the Broadsided Press team.
Michelle Moncayo, 2022 Guest Editor
In 2017, we began inviting former contributors to serve as guest editors at Broadsided Press. We wanted to introduce new voices and visions to our editorial process. The energy and insight each have brought have greatly enriched the conversations we’ve built. Michelle Moncayo will be reading, talking, sharing as Guest Editor in 2022. We first met Michelle when she sent in her beautiful poem, “Como Una Vela,” to our 2021 Switcheroo.
Michelle Moncayo is a Dominican/Ecuadorian poet in New Jersey. She received a 2020 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Her work explores diaspora, queer identity, and mental/physical illness. She has received fellowships from SPACE at Ryder Farm, Vermont Studio Center, Sundress Academy for the Arts, CantoMundo, and VONA. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Até Mais: An Anthology of Latinx Futurisms, No Tender Fences: An Anthology of Immigrant & First-Generation American Poetry, Palette Poetry, & Ninth Letter.
Nayoung Kim, Reviews Editor
We love sharing books published by authors we’ve published, and Broadsides to Books has become an important part of what we offer. We’ve been seeking the right person to help guide this feature into the future for a while now, and here she is! Nai worked with us in the fall, wearing a number of hats, and now we’re glad to welcome her as our Reviews Editor. She will bring creativity, warmth, and care to her work, and we’re eager to see where she steers the ship.
