Collaborators’ Q&A: Poet Melissa Joplin Higley: I love encountering poems in the wild. It’s not unusual to see artwork in public, but seeing a poem in public is much rarer. Artist Elizabeth Terhune: Reading “Motherhood Duplex,” I responded strongly to the sense of entreaty. I imagine it is a universal, old, probably ancient impulse and experience. Absolutely foundational to human experience.

Melissa Joplin Higley’s poetry chapbooks include First Father and We Shake & Seek. Artist Elizabeth Terhune paints in watercolor and oil.  She teaches in-person and remote classes through the 92Y in NYC.
