“feathering, or // on not feeling queer enough in queer spaces”
Collaborators’ Q&A: ArtistMichele L’Heureux: The title of the poem resonated with me immediately, as I often have the experience of not feeling queer enough in queer spaces. Also, I happen to be obsessed with birds. Poet Livia Meneghin: I adore Michele’s response to the poem, and can really feel the character of the little gray bird behind all the bluebirds. I feel now that my poem really has a narrative, which I am grateful for because the poem originated from my own story.
Poet Livia Meneghin (she/her) is the author of Honey in My Hair.
