Broadsided Workshops @ FAWC (July 30 – Aug 5, 2023) — Register Now!
Artists, writers, designers: let’s make broadsides together.
Three workshops will run concurrently (and do a LOT of cross-pollination) during the week of July 30 – August 5 at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown (FAWC).
We will play, explore the creative energy of collaborative work, and develop unique and interesting ways to feature writing and art engaging with each other and the world at large.
So, if you’re:
- a writer excited about working from/with visual art sign up for Artful Writing: Re-Seeing Your Writing Through Visual Art with writer and Broadsided senior editor Alexandra Teague
- a visual artist excited about working with/from poems and short prose, sign up for the fabulous Poetic Art Making: Generating Visual Ideas From Writing with Broadsided art editor Millian Giang Lien Pham
- would enjoy delving into the magic of bringing art and poetry into singularly designed works (broadsides), join Broadsided’s editor-in-chief Elizabeth Bradfield for Making Broadsides: Bringing Poetry and Art into Conversation (no previous design experience required)
Scholarships available for BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQ+, and other historically underserved communities as well as veterans, NYU students, and RISD students or alums (Deadline March 1!). More details on FAWC’s website.
This is the first time Broadsided Press will be offering an opportunity like this, and we’re VERY grateful to the Fine Arts Work Center for helping us realize this dream.
